Laconic

Still free
Still me
Lips locked
Still shocked

View

Leaves leave the trees in pieces
Seeds reave to leave and sow
Soon grown and matched in glory
Seems to be a pattern forming
Tangled branches twisted roots
Veins of age and chutes of youth
Vines entwined and life enshrined
The forest for the trees to view

Walls

A thick
Red brick wall
Covered in vines
Enclosed a garden.
A built
Bald man awoke
From a meditative state
To find the world was one.

Sol

I love you, Sol
But I will keep my distance
I love you too,
See above

Lines

Your almond eyes are contours
Your head, a haloed silhouette
I won't soon forget the rio banks
Or your last night in my bed.
Your little toe may never grow
But even he is outlined too
The lines I see shape everything
Both in and out of view
Around the trees are stenciled leaves
Each blade of grass is lined
White colored pencil stenciled lives
The drawings of my mind

Listless

Tooted horn,
The scourge's scorn of shore.
The listless mistress and the fishes
Tug the captain forth.
Maiden, laden,
Hard to starboard,
Or smash against the rocks.
Captain, laughing,
Can't resist her,
Brings her hard to port.

Between

Between then and now
Between here and there
After space and after time
Before the heart repairs
Between love and loss
Between tried and true
After all, I was after naught
Before I first met you
Between if and when
Between how and why
Before it ends or after amends
What's between you and I?
